Judith Campbell

Past Senior Vice President & Chief Information Officer, New York Life Insurance Company

Judith E. Campbell is Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of New York Life Insurance Company. Directing a staff of over 1,200 technology professionals and managing an annual budget of over $300 million, she is responsible for setting the strategic technology direction of New York Life as the leader of the Company's Corporate Information Department. Ms. Campbell joined New York Life in June 1997. That November, she was elected to the Executive Management Committee, where she participates in determining the overall business direction of the Company. Ms. Campbell has succeeded at New York Life as a leader, and also as a change agent, bringing numerous innovations of genuine significance. Some examples include the development of a state-of- the-art agent sales system, and a cutting-edge new business processing system, both built on a new enterprise technical architecture that has reduced cost and improved time to market for new financial products.

Previously, Ms. Campbell was Senior Vice President of Consumer Banking at PNC Bank Corp. At PNC Bank, Ms. Campbell was responsible for deposit products, consumer payments and direct banking. This included overall responsibility for $37 billion of customer deposits and 3.5 million customers. It also included the integration of the National Consumer Financial Services telebanking center and the other electronic and non-branch retail channels into a nationwide direct banking business. Prior to this, she worked at Chemical Bank and Midlantic Bank as an executive in a wide range of areas, from retail banking to operations.

Since 1993, Ms. Campbell has been an active member of the Drew University community in Madison, NJ, and was elected to its Board of Trustees in April 2000. She has also served on the boards of directors of Express Scripts, Inc. in St. Louis, Mo., and Brylane, Inc. in New York, NY.

A native of Staten Island, NY, Ms. Campbell graduated from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia with a B.A. in History. She resides in Madison, NJ and New York, NY, and has two daughters and four grandchildren.
